Walter Cronkite Global Governance Award

Walter Cronkite A young Walter Cronkite

Walter Cronkite’s speech from the above video:

It seems to many of us that if we are to avoid the eventual catastrophic world conflict we must strengthen the United Nations as a first step toward a world government patterned after our own government with a legislature, executive and judiciary, and police to enforce its international laws and keep the peace.

To do that, of course, we Americans will have to yield up some of our sovereignty. That would be a bitter pill. It would take a lot of courage, a lot of faith in the new order. But the American colonies did it once and brought forth one of the most nearly perfect unions the world has ever seen. Cronkite said later in the same speech:

Even as with the American rejection of the League of Nations, our failure to live up to our obligations to the United Nations is led by a handful of willful senators who choose to pursue their narrow, selfish political objectives at the cost of our nation’s conscience. They pander to and are supported by the Christian Coalition and the rest of the religious right wing. Their leader, Pat Robertson, has written that we should have a world government but only when the messiah arrives. Any attempt to achieve world order before that time must be the work of the Devil! Well join me… I’m glad to sit here at the right hand of Satan.

Note at the end of the video Hillary Clinton is teleconferenced in to congratulate Walter Cronkite on his Global Governance Award, and for his efforts promoting a one world government.

Was Walter Cronkite insane, or did he have the right idea?   Is a global government a good idea, or is Walter Cronkite just a pawn for the International Bankers and the Corporatocracy.

As a side note, The Gass Steagall Act was repealed under the Clinton Administration, who we can assume supports a one world government since Hillary Clinton Supports it.

History of the Glass-Steagall Act repeal:

According to Forbes magazine, the formation of the Glass-Steagall Act arose in 1933. It was formed by Congress shortly after the stock market plumetted in 1929 while there was bank collapse across the United States (source). Essentially, the Glass Stiegel Act “separated investment and commercial banking” and may have potentially “hindered the establishment of financial services firms that can equally compete against each other” (source), which led to the repeal of the Glass Steagall Act.

Glass Stiegel Repeal Information: Did the Glass Steagal Repeal Destroy the American Economy?

The Glass Steagall Act helped compartmentize the U.S. financial industry in an effort to prevent future collapses and failures of U.S. banks such as what happened in the ’30s. With the repeal of the Glass Stiegel/Glass Steagall act, the door was opened for a repeat of the pre-Glass Steagall Act era.

John Perkins Confessions of an Economic Hit Man

In this interview John Perkins speaks with Amy Goodwin from Democracy Now.

Perkins goes into detail on his role as an “Economic Hit Man.”  I have seen people post Perkins is not credible because where are all the other economic him men.  When you face the risk of being killed, I can imagine many would want to come forward.

Perkins covers many of the same events covered by Bill Moyers in his 1987 PBS documentary Secret Government: Constitution in Crisis and John Pilger’s many films:

I similar interview with John Perkins is out on DVD called Speaking Freely Vol 1: John Perkins. The film can be purchased on Amazon; streamed or rented from Netflix.
