No, you can’t obtain a “certificate of live birth” anymore.

The state Department of Health no longer issues copies of paper birth certificates as was done in the past, said spokeswoman Janice Okubo.

The department only issues “certifications” of live births, and that is the “official birth certificate” issued by the state of Hawaii, she said.

And, it’s only available in electronic form.

For this reason it is silly to carry on about this, but it is a useful diversion to distract from what the government is really up to.  It’s silly for Lou Dobbs to carry on about it, but it’s just as silly for Media Matters to send out 24 email on the subject.

Media Matters then used the subject to discredit everything Lou Dobbs has reported:

How can we forget his preoccupation with conspiracy theories about purported government plans for a “North American Union” between the U.S., Mexico, and Canada? Or his promotion of the nutty conspiracy that Mexicans plan to reconquer the American Southwest?

People should keep in mind it was Democrat Marcy Kaptur who blew the whistle on George W. Bush’s North American Union otherwise known as the SPP.  This is an expansion of Clinton’s NAFTA.

An actual Progressive organization called GlobalExchange.org put out a publication called The Right to Stay Home.  The book examines how US foreign policy, and agencies the US contributes to like the IMF and World Bank have devastated Mexico.  On page 12 they state:

It is the legal, or more accurately the “constitutional,” framework within which the continental political class is busy filling in more deals and agreements away from public scrutiny.  The Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) had two stated objectives.  One was to integrate the military and policy functions in the “War on Terror.”  The second was to further the neoliberal agenda with policies that would promote more continental deregulation and the privatization of natural resources, including Mexican oil and Canadian water.

So why would Media Matters want to divert people’s attention from the health care debate, and discredit information provided by a Democrat?  Media Matters claims to be Progressive, but watching how they filter news, they appear to be neoliberal.

A real Progressive news site CommonDreams.org re-posted an article from the New York Times on Media Matters in 2004:

WASHINGTON:  David Brock, the former right-wing journalist turned liberal, describes himself as once having been a rather large cog in the machinery of the conservative media.

Now Mr. Brock is starting a new endeavor built to combat the very sector of journalism that spawned him, with support from the same sorts of people (Democrats) about whom he once wrote so critically.

Mr. Brock’s project was developed with help from the newly formed Center for American Progress, the policy group headed by John D. Podesta, the former Clinton chief of staff. And Mr. Brock said he hoped it could help provide fodder for fledgling liberal radio talk shows being started across the country, including those of the comedians Al Franken and Janeane Garofalo.

For Mr. Brock, 41, the project is yet another considerable step in his public evolution from conservative muckraker to liberal activist. That evolution began after Mr. Brock began publicly apologizing in the late 1990′s for reporting that brutally criticized Anita F. Hill and a report that Arkansas state troopers had helped Bill Clinton procure paramours when he was the governor of Arkansas, the veracity of which he is no longer sure.

Mr. Brock has also said that he knowingly lied in an article he wrote for The American Spectator in 1992 that raised doubts about the credibility of Ms. Hill. The article formed the basis for a later book about Ms. Hill, whose charges of harassment almost derailed Clarence Thomas’s appointment to the Supreme Court.

Can we truly believe Mr. Brock is a reformed man?  Perhaps Mr. Brock found it easier to defend corporate interests from the other side.

The House recently passed the health care overhaul bill H.R. 3962 that is such a giveaway to health insurance companies, Dennis Kucinich would not vote for it.  Kucinich stated:

“But instead of working toward the elimination of for-profit insurance, H.R. 3962 would put the government in the role of accelerating the privatization of health care.  In H.R. 3962, the government is requiring at least 21 million Americans to buy private health insurance from the very industry that causes costs to be so high, which will result in at least $70 billion in new annual revenue, much of which is coming from taxpayers.  This inevitably will lead to even more costs, more subsidies, and higher profits for insurance companies — a bailout under a blue cross.

Pelosi only put up for a vote legislation that simply called for negotiated rates.

Negotiated is code word for higher. Much higher.

So all across the country, insurance companies are raising their rates now. If they are going to negotiate, why not negotiate from a higher base?

Media Matters combats this problem with a well established propaganda technique.  They didn’t deny the truth about the bill, they simply left out information they don’t want people to know and try to diverted people’s attention to something else.

Media Matters reported:

Fact: CBO estimated health bill would reduce federal budget deficit $109 billion through 2019

CBOfound that the health care reform bill that passed the House on November 7, the Affordable Health Care for America Act (H.R. 3962), “would yield a net reduction in federal budget deficits of $109 billion over the 2010-2019 period.” CBO also found that in the decade after 2019, “the legislation would slightly reduce federal budget deficits … relative to those projected under current law-with a total effect during that decade that is in a broad range between zero and one-quarter percent of GDP [gross domestic product].”

It’s not hard to see how the bill would save that much money, if it is requiring tax payers buy a corporate insurance policy.  The health insurance companies are going to get $70 billion in new revenue.  The Congressional Budget Office is happy because the money won’t come out of the Congressional Budget.  Congress can claim taxes will not go up because people will have to buy the policies directly.

Does this explain why the Obama Administration, just like the Bush Administration, will only allow preselected questions?

Helen Thomas had previously stated the Bush Administration started filtering all questions.  Only the questions the President’s staff wanted to answer were allowed through, and that allowed the replies to be prepared in advance.  The President would then only call on the people who’s questions he wanted to answer.

Helen Thomas being an unbiased reporter is expressing her outrage because the Obama Administration is carrying on this Bush policy like many others policies.

If you pay attention during Obama’s press conferences, you will notice Obama is doing exactly what Robert Gibbs is attempting to do, only in this case Helen Thomas and Chip Reid are calling out Robert Gibbs on manipulating the press.”

Talk radio hosts like Glenn Back have been promoting the idea liberals are fascists.

I would like to pose the question, “what is an actual fascist?”

Author Milton Mayer wrote They Thought They Were Free: The Germans, 1933-45 where he defined 14 points that define fascism:

1. Powerful and continuing expressions of nationalism
2. Disdain for the importance of human rights
3. Identification of enemies/scapegoats as a unifying cause
4. The supremacy of the military/avid militarism
5. Rampant sexism
6. A controlled mass media
7. Obsession with national security
8. Religion and ruling elite tied together
9. Power of corporations protected
10. Power of labor suppressed or eliminated
11. Disdain and suppression of intellectuals and the arts
12. Obsession with crime and punishment
13. Rampant cronyism and corruption
14. Fraudulent Elections

Which of the above points identifies liberals? Why was Hitler rounding up Social Democrats?

Hitler rounded up people who were gay. Don’t we all know liberals are friends with gay people? This clip from the documentary The Corporation shows “Homosexual” and “Communist” were listed on the punch cards used to track people on their way to concentration camps. Those punch cards were provided by IBM.

In the below video Bill Moyers Journal examines hate speech on the airwaves that pushed one unemployed man to the breaking point. The man blamed Democrats for being unemployed and “destroying the country.” Since he couldn’t shoot a Democrat in power, he said he wanted to shoot one of the people who elect them.

Bill Moyers Journal points out talk radio aided in the genocide that took place in Rwanda. Hutu radio hosts called Tootsies “cockroaches.” People were dehumanized until it was “okay to kill them.” “They were just cockroaches.” “They were evil.” They didn’t deserve to live.

Bill Moyers neglects to mention similar behavior took place in Nazi Germany in order to psych the German people out enough to kill.

Former CIA consultant Chalmers Johnson has stated the US will collapse under the weight of the military industrial complex.  He has also stated an economic collapse is how both Mao and Hitler came to power.  If Mr. Johnson is correct, who in the United States has all the guns?  Who is armed to the teeth and who is not?

In Bill Moyers’s video he points out talk radio hosts are telling people the New York Times is a liberal publication. As former Reagan economist Paul Craig Roberts pointed out the New York Times assisted the Bush administration in convincing U.S. citizens an invasion of Iraq was necessary:

The American print and TV media have never been very good. These days they are horrible. If people intend to be informed, they must turn to foreign news broadcasts, to Internet sites, to foreign newspapers available on the Internet, or to alternative newspapers that are springing up in various cities. A person who sits in front of Murdoch’s Fox “News” or CNN or who reads the New York Times is simply being brainwashed with propaganda.

Before conservatives nod their heads in agreement, I’m not referring to “the liberal media.” I mean the propaganda that issues from the US government and the Israel Lobby.

It was neoconservative Bush regime propaganda fed to America through Judith Miller and the New York Times and through Murdoch’s Fox “News” that convinced Americans that they were in danger from a small secular Arab country half way around the globe called Iraq. It was the American media that convinced Americans that getting rid of dangerous “weapons of mass destruction,” weapons that did not exist in Iraq, would be a cakewalk paid for by Iraqi oil revenues.

It is the same propagandistic American print and TV media that have rationalized Bush’s illegal invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan based on seven years of lies and deception.

It is Corporate America who supports talk radio. Here are a couple of example of how they benefit.

Food, Inc points out the food industry started running ads in Mexico to recruit poor workers after NAFTA flooded Mexico with low cost corn. NAFTA put 1.3 million Mexican farmers out of business. Does Corporate America want you to hold them accountable, or is it better to pit people against each other?

Paul Craig Roberts (again a former Reagan economist) wrote an article titled Doomed by the Myths of Free Trade – How the Economy was Lost, which basically identifies how corporate America has outsourced the country. Corporate America is going to be a lot better off if people are pitted against each other over job and wage loss rather than corporate America.

Can people see why no one has given Paul Craig Roberts his own radio talk show. The Baltimore Chronicle describes Roberts as “The Father of Reaganomics.” I’m sure people would love to hear what Paul Craig Roberts has to say, and he would attract a large listening audience. This isn’t about ratings its about people listening to what they are supposed to be listening to.

In this interview John Perkins speaks with Amy Goodwin from Democracy Now.

Perkins goes into detail on his role as an “Economic Hit Man.”  I have seen people post Perkins is not credible because where are all the other economic him men.  When you face the risk of being killed, I can imagine many would want to come forward.

Where Alex Jones claims the international bankers are conspiring with the UN to kill off 80% of the worlds population, Aldous Huxley states the expanding population in the world will be the cause of the loss of freedom.  Resources for power and even land  are becoming scares and putting pressure on society.

Where some people claim technology will give man kind freedom, Aldous states technology enables massive empires that never could have existed otherwise.  This applies to both corporations and government, taking on a monolithic state.  This relates to Bill Joy and Theodor Kaczynski’s fear that technology would be the end of mankind, not his liberator.

Audios states he believes people may be manipulated by modern day pharmacology.  People may be introduced to drugs that make them easier to manage–docile.

Audous states he believes TV in and of it’s self is benign, but can be used to implant ideas into peoples heads.  Audous states Hitler used every technology available to reinforce ideas, and spread propaganda amongst the German people.  Despite the fact they were very well educated, the German people were able to be lead astray by propaganda in news papers and radio programs that played ideas repeatedly.  With the expansion of thechnology, there are now more resources in which to spread propaganda: TV, radio, and news papers.

In Breaking the Silence John Pilger examines the history of US and British intervention in Afghanistan

Pilger brings to light Jimmy Carter authorized $500 million to support the Mujahideen six (6) months before Russia had invaded Afghanistan. Osama bin Laden was created by this funding and was regarded by the US and Brittan as a “Good Terrorist”.

Americans were completely unaware their government — along with the MI6 (British Secret Service) — had begun training and funding terrorists.

Soon after the Taliban came to power 1996 the administration of Bill Clinton backed a secret plan for a pipeline through Afghanistan from central Asia which has vast reserves of oil and gas.

After 911 the United states invaded Afghanistan, and drove out Taliban, only to place warlords in power. Although driving out Taliban was claimed as a great victory, The warlords won’t allow women to study, have burned down girls schools, and force woman to wear burkas just like the Taliban.

Unlike the Taliban, the war lords support poppy fields that supply most of the heroin being sold in the US and Brittan.

In order to establish a perspective on US foreign policy, Pilger interviews a number of experts: pro and con.

Pilger interviews Ray McGovern a former CIA operative who gave the U.S. President his daily CIA intelligence report for 30 years. Ray Ray McGovern was a personal friend of George Bush Sr. McGovern states there was a group in Washington referred to as “The Crazies.” “Anyone knew who you were talking about if you mentioned the crazies.” The Crazies are now personal friends and allies of George W. Bush: Paul Wolfowitz, Richard Perl, Doug Feith, and Donald Runsfeld.

Pilger interviews William Kristol the President for “The Project for The New American Century”. William Kristol states the problem with the U.S. is being to slow to get involved in foreign countries. William Kristol states the U.S. would not intervene in any “decent” country.

Pilger states to Kristol since World War II there have been 72 interventions conducted by the United States. William Kristol replies “That is ludicrous.”

John Pilger goes on to document these interventions, like the U.S. intervention in Chile.

John Pilger does miss one issue. In nearly every case there was a financial interest at stake. In Chile Salvador Isabelino Allende Gossens wanted to nationalize the copper mines, kicking out multinational corporations. This was covered by HBO Chile.

John Pilger uses the Freedom of Information act to examine documents like “The National Security Strategy of The United States of America.”

Pilger interviews Reed Brody from Human Rights Watch. Mr. Brody States the U.S. government multiplied it’s aid to Indonesia as slaughter in East Temor was increasing.

Pilger interviews Denis Halliday former UN Assistant Secretary General. Halliday likens the current U.S. situation to when children where trained to hide under their desks in case a nuclear bomb were to strike. Halliday states the Axis of Evil is fundamental rubbish and part of a political game.

The United States now has 152 military bases around the world. The U.S. military calls this full spectrum dominance.

Charles Lewis from The Center for Public Integrity likens the situation to the Roman Empire.

George Bush states “We cannot accept and we will not accept states that finance, harbor, train, or equip the agents of terror. Those nations that violate this principle will be regarded as hostile regimes.”

Amnesty International has documented thousands of terrorists who were trained in The School Of The Americas who have been granted safe haven in the United States.

Pilger speaks with Colonel Rod Davis Director of Public Affairs for CJTF 180 in Coalition Military force stationed at Bagram Air Base in Afgahnistan. Colonel Davis assures Pilger no torture takes place at any of the holding locations, no abuse, they receive medical attention, and they are fed.

Pilger states there have been reports [of human rights violations]. One example is a military pathologist who sited a man named Delewa who’s death was attributed to homicide. Colonel Davis states “Anyone who’s fair would have to say that Americans in particular but certainly members of the coalition aren’t known for committing atrocities. That’s not part of our history, that’s not the way we do business. It’s not the way we treat people.”

Another example is Wasaya Mohammed, a Kabul taxi driver, who disappeared into Bagram last year [2002]. He’s now in Guantanamo Bay. His crime was to enquirer about another taxi driver who has since been released. Mohammed has never been charged with any crime. Pilger states what makes this case so appalling is this man is recognized by the present government as having resisted the Taliban. He had no connections with Al Qaeda.

There are nine (9) British Citizens being held in Guantanamo including Shafike Razual. Shafike Razual was kidnapped and taken to Guantanamo two weeks after he had arrived in Pakistan where he has relatives. He has been held for two years without being charged.

Andrew Wilkie former Australian Intelligence Officer. Mr. Wilkie is the only serving western intelligence officer who has broken cover to expose what he considers to be the lies that lead the West into the war with Iraq.

General Wesley Clark former NATO commander states from the time he served he never saw any evidence produced to show Saddam was behind Al Qaeda. Clark states “The only reason to have gone to war to deal with a threat so eminent and so dangerous that war as a last resort was the only means available. As I weighed the evidence as I watched the debate emerge. I reflected on my own experiences I listened to the discussions from the Pentagon and inside the White House as I checked with sources in Congress and people who were current on the intelligence that simply wasn’t the case.”

Douglas Feith under Secretary of Defense (remember Ray McGovern stated he’s one of the crazies), states he does not think the threat of weapons of mass destruction was a lie. Feith points out Saddam used weapons of mass destruction on his own people.

John Pilger counters that most of the biological weapons Saddam used, and their components were sold to him by the US and Brittan. Pilger goes on to cite it’s on the record in the Library Congress. A congressional record of a US Senate inquiry from October 27th 1992 shows the US approved the sale of biological weapons from ATCC and Porton Down in Brittan.

Colan Powall’s speech from February 2001 stated Saddam “He has not developed any significant capabilities with respect to weapons of mass destruction. He is unable to project conventional power against his neighbors.”

Condoleezza Rice Bush’s National Security Advisor stated stated in July 2001, “We are able to keep arms from him. His military force has not been rebuilt.”

This was covered up after September 11th when Bush and Tony Blair decided to invade Iraq. Condoleezza Rice had told one official, “The decision has been made. Don’t waist your breath.”

As of the making of this film it was estimated 10,000 civilians died in the attack on Iraq. John Pilger provides footage of injured civilian in hospitals, and interviews Jo Wilding, human rights observer. Wilding describes the wounded civilians in agonizing pain. There wasn’t enough anesthetic in the hospital to administer to all of them.

John Bolton (under Secretary of State) assures John Pilger the number of Iraqis killed was the absolute minimum for modern warfare. John Bolton also accuses John Pilger of being a member of the Communist Party.

At the end of the documentary John Pilger features conclusions by many of his interviewees.

Rita Lasar’s brother Abe Zelmanowitz was killed in the twin towers on 911. Lasar states “There is something so similar between our administration and Al Qaeda, in it’s certainty that God is on its side that it’s laughable. And that the American people should fall for this lie hurts me more than I can tell you.”

Pilger speaking to Ray McGovern states “Norman Mailer wrote the other day that he believed America had entered a prefascist state. What’s your view of that?”

Ray McGovern: “Well In a way, and I’m not saying this to be cynical, but I hope he’s right because there are others who say we are already in a fascist sort of mode. If you say something often enough people begin to believe it, and that strategy has been applied with unfortunately great success by this administration.”

Some interesting claims are made here that I’m currently investigating. One of which is Nazis used Fluoride in the drinking water at concentration camps. This was supposed to have made prisoners easier to manage.

That might sound odd, but also take this into consideration. Lithium is used to mellow out people with Bipolar Disorder. Personally I once temporarily wiped out my short term memory by taking way too much magnesium.

Scientists have found Fluoride impairs cognitive function in both rats and humans.

Dr. Phyllis Mullenix is a pharmacologist and toxicologist by training. Dr. Mullenix’s fluoride research found:

Establishing a threshold dose for effects on the CNS, in rats or humans, was not the intent of this initial investigation. Yet, one fact relevant to human exposure emerged quite clear. When rats consumed 75-125 ppm and humans 5-10 ppm fluoride in their respective drinking waters, the result was equivalent ranges of plasma fluoride levels. This range is observed with some treatments for osteoporosis, and it is exceeded ten times over, one hour after children receive topical applications of some dental fluoride gels. Thus, humans are being exposed to levels of fluoride we know alters behavior in rats.

We concluded that the rat study flagged potential for motor dysfunction, IQ deficits and/or learning disabilities in humans. Confident as we were, the data were only one piece of the puzzle, the overall picture was still emerging. Soon thereafter we learned of two epidemiological studies (Fluoride, 1995-1996) from China showing IQ deficits in children over-exposed to fluoride via drinking water or soot from burning coal. A recent review (International Clinical Psychopharmacology, 1994) listed case reports of CNS effects in humans excessively exposed to fluoride, information that spans almost 60 years. A common theme appeared in the reported effects: impaired memory and concentration, lethargy, headache, depression and confusion. The same theme was echoed in once classified reports about workers from the Manhatten Project. In all, our rat data seem to fit a consistent picture.

Why EPA Headquarters’ Union of Scientists Opposes Fluoridation:

In 1995, Mullenix and co-workers \2 showed that rats given fluoride in drinking water at levels that give rise to plasma fluoride concentrations in the range seen in humans suffer neurotoxic effects that vary according to when the rats were given the fluoride – as adult animals, as young animals, or through the placenta before birth. Those exposed before birth were born hyperactive and remained so throughout their lives. Those exposed as young or adult animals displayed depressed activity. Then in 1998, Guan and co-workers \3 gave doses similar to those used by the Mullenix research group to try to understand the mechanism(s) underlying the effects seen by the Mullenix group. Guan’s group found that several key chemicals in the brain – those that form the membrane of brain cells – were substantially depleted in rats given fluoride, as compared to those who did not get fluoride.

CODEX Alimentarius is a campaign to force global nutrition standards on the population of the world, that do not serve our best interest of the average person.

An example is not allowing the recommendation of taking any more than 400 IUs of vitamin D per day. Why is that a big deal? It has been proven people who take 1000 IU or more of vitamin D per day are 50% less likely to develop Multiple Sclerosis. The pharmaceutical medications that are recommended for Multiple Sclerosis costs $1500 to $2500 per month–need I say more.

One suggestion I would make: instead of trying to rewrite CODEX, the US needs to get out of The UN, and the WTO all together.

This John Pilger film looks at UN sanctions driven by the US and Brittan. The sanctions were supposed to force Saddam Hussein into giving up his chemical and biological weapons which had been sold to him by the US and countries in Europe like Brittan.The sanctions didn’t do much to Saddam Hussein, but they did killed a half a million Iraqi children.

The sanctions called the “Oil for Food Program” were managed by the UN Special Commission (UNSCOM).

The U.N. sanctions denied basic necessities like medical equipment, antibiotics, vaccines, cancer medication, and morphine for dying cancer patients.

Iraq has a lot of cancer patients because the U.S. and Brittan used shells coated with depleted uranium while bombing Iraq, and they did it for years.

John Pilger travels to Iraq with former Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations, Denis Halliday. This is the first time Halliday returned since he resigned in protest over the sanctions in September 1998.

Pilger also exposes the suffering caused by the illegal bombing campaign that was conducted by the US and Britain in the “no-fly zones”.
